Minerva Temple (Santa Maria Sopra Minerva) is an Augustan art building probably dedicated to Hercules and erected in 30 B.C. It was converted into a church in the sixteenth century, with the addition of the bell tower, "Tower of People". It turns out to be among the best preserved Roman temples of ancient world: prostyle Corinthian temple "in antis", with fluted columns, entablature and pediment. Temple has original facade, on a raised podium, while the cell was completely destroyed during the construction in the sixteenth century.
