The Museum was meant to recall the tradition of civilization and culture of the city and its region, it was inaugurated in 1991. It is located on the second floor Forte Palace and includes a significant collection of local pottery production from the twelfth to the twenty-first century, the Historical Archive, rare and valuable print editions of fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, Library, Photo-library and conference room. The enhancement of the ancient popular majolica of Ariano is the main goal of the Museum, which currently has a collection of about 250 pieces. To these must be added the faience artifacts dating from the ninth century to the end of 1400, from sporadic discoveries. The Museum receives scholars, students, experienced collectors, art critics, potters and enthusiasts.
