Villa romana di Bocca Magra

Where Via Fabbricotti, Ameglia (La Spezia)

Seaside Villa that was to appear on the ancient Roman port of Luni. What is left is arranged on terraces sloping towards the sea. Based on historical data derived from an examination of the ceramic material, it can be assumed a life between the first and fourth century AD. The Villa was partially unearthed: the core best preserved is related to a thermal plant, with steam bath and its heating system deployed in the east and connected with other rooms. Are recognizable several renovations of the rooms, fragments of painted plaster and marble slabs, as well as two marble capitals in Corinthian style, that testify the luxury and refinement of the Villa.
