Chiesa del Carmine (o di San Rocco)

Where Corso Umberto I, 59, Amantea (Cosenza)

Church of Santa Maria del Carmine, also known under the invocation of San Rocco, was built in 1685 on the site of a hypothetical pagan temple dedicated to the Sun, it may be inferred by an inscription found in the place. Outside, the facade has two towers on the sides, three portals and a staircase leading to front on Corso Umberto I, the major scenic walk in the city. From the church steps you can enjoy the lower city and Tyrrhenian Sea.
