Chiaravalle della Colomba, built in the twelfth century, is the most important Cistercian reality in the region of Emilia. In the former monks' dormitory runs a route knowledge and learning, with illustrative panels, the history of the Abbey. The route starts with the foundation and the review of the production system of the monastery, based on an agricultural economy. The work, in fact, was for St. Bernard an important part of the monk's life, according to prayer and study. It goes on to analyze the figure of converts, forms of wage earners, the buildings relevant, essential to the administration of the monastic life, even today in the existing, and the function of the "grange", productive farms allocated over the possessions. Are provided, finally, elements to reconstruct particular aspects of the monks's daily life and Cistercian architecture.
